​To take effective action, we need a clear understanding of a product’s carbon footprint. The main part of a laptop’s carbon footprint is manufacturing and materials, which makes up roughly 75% of the total. Packaging and daily use account for the remainder. We considered all of these factors and more when designing the Zenbook S 13 OLED.

The Zenbook series has always been inspired by natural elements, and we strive to protect these sources of inspiration by doing more with less. We incorporate recycled materials and design eco-conscious packaging to reduce the carbon footprint of the Zenbook. The device is the most eco-friendly Zenbook ever made, incorporating post-industrial recycled (PIR) magnesium-aluminum alloy in the keyboard cover, chassis and lid, reducing its carbon footprint by more than 50%⁴. The keycaps and speakers incorporate post-consumer-recycled (PCR) plastics, and the speakers also use ocean-bound plastics.
