In the wake of the novel Corona Virus, many philanthropists and well wishers from around the world have come up to support initiatives aimed at cushioning low income households and the general population. In Kenya, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry KNCCI, in partnership with several fashion players came together on Thursday April 16th to donate free Corona Virus masks to residents of the Kasarani community in Nairobi.
Players in the fashion industry involved in this drive included Marumara Creations, Suit Guru, Hando Africa Designs, and organizers of the leading fashion show in Kenya, The JW Show. Other partners included the Standard Media Group, KBC Tv and The Sibala Group.
Last week, officials from the Ministry of Trade and Industry toured Uhuru market to witness production of Personal Protective Equipment as SMEs unleash their capacity to contribute in war against Corona Virus.
Led by the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and Enterprise Development, Hon. Betty C Maina, the government officials approved and commended the local traders for their noble effort in assisting the government to fight the deadly pandemic.

As more hands continue to join in the fight against Corona Virus, let’s remember that we all have a role to play in this fight by washing our hands, sanitizing, wearing masks in public places and avoiding big crowds.
